What does GOTS-certified mean?
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certifies the entire chain — from organically grown cotton to processing without harmful substances. For Jakopina baby knitwear it means the fibre touching the child's skin is certified clean, not just labelled "natural".
Why organic cotton for babies?
Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides and processed without harsh chemicals, which matters for babies, whose skin is thinner and more permeable than adult skin. It is also soft, breathable and hypoallergenic — a safe default for everyday baby clothing and blankets.
How do I wash organic cotton knitwear?
Jakopina organic cotton pieces are washed at 40 °C and can be tumble-dried — the most practical care of all our fibres, suited to daily baby use where things get washed often.
When should I choose cotton and when merino wool?
Choose organic cotton for everyday pieces that are washed often and for warmer months; choose extra-fine merino wool for warmth, temperature regulation and pieces worn in the cold. Many parents combine both — cotton for daily wear, merino for outdoors and sleep.
